Mike was born in Dublin, Ireland and brought up in nearby Watford. He studied engineering and mathematics and worked exclusively in the IT industry before retiring. For most of his adult life he has lived in Gerrards Cross in South Bucks which became part of the Chesham and Amersham constituency in 2023. He is a long time supporter/member of the Labour Party and has become increasingly active in recent years. He is currently the Treasurer of the Chesham and Amersham CLP.
